Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Travel and Ground Transport

(Hong Kong, China)

Based on Lantau Island, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is well-equipped in the world of ground transportation, with passengers being greeted by a fleet of modern taxis, buses and shuttles, as well as speedy trains and even some ferry services.

Ground transport facilities at Hong Kong International Airport connect many of the region's most popular attractions, including Connaught Place, Discovery Bay, Disneyland, Kowloon Park, the Ngong Ping Plateau and Victoria Harbour. Other significant highlights within reach of HKG include the Deep Water Bay, within the Southern District, and Ocean Park at Aberdeen.

Train

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is serviced by The Airport Express Line, which is a fast and convenient airport train service to Hong Kong island and Kowloon. This service leaves the airport every ten minutes, with a journey time of 20 to 25 minutes. There is a complimentary shuttle bus service from the railway stations to many of the hotels.

Buses

The airport bus station is situated by the Ground Transportation Centre, where is boasts a fast and efficient service to many districts in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the surrounding area, including Discovery Park (Tsuen Wan), Hung Hom Station, Island Harbourview (Tai Kok Tsui), Kwai Fong Station, Lam Tin Station, North Point Ferry Pier, Tin Hau Station, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun Station. Services also run between Discovery Bay on Lantau island, while there is a shuttle service for short trips.

The Airport Tour Coach station is situated on the same side of the Ground Transportation Centre as the bus station and offers regular transportation services to and from the province of Guangdong. This service operates from 06:30 to 19:30.

Taxi Cabs

Taxis are in good supply at Hong Kong International Airport, being grouped outside of the Ground Transportation Centre, close to the passenger terminals. A taxi ride into central Hong Kong will take around 45 minutes. Popular taxi routes on Hong Kong Island include Causeway Bay, Chai Wan, North Point, Quarry Bay, Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Western District. Many destinations in Kowloon area are also well connected by taxi cabs, such as Cheung Sha Wan, Hung Hom Station, Jordan, Kowloon Bay, Lei Yue Mun and Tsim Sha Tsui.

Within the New Territories, taxis run between Clear Water Bay, Fanling Station, Ma On Shan, Shenzhen Bay, Tin Shui Wai and Wetland Park, while on North Lantau Island, AsiaWorld-Expo, HK Disneyland and the Po Lin Monastery are highlights. Worth noting, some taxis do not travel to Discovery Bay.

Taxis at Hong Kong Airport are color-coded as follows:
